I have not been able to draw in daylight since the weekend, until today that is (and typically today is very grey and rainy). I decided to draw some lovely lilies I have in a vase, but just concentrating on the lines - not trying to deal with the shading. I'm fairly happy with the pictures - it's definitely all good practice!
The perfume from the flowers is almost overwhelming! I'm waiting for the sneezing to start!
The sun is just trying to break through now, so I'm going to settle down and see if I can work on a painting I started a couple of weeks ago. I do like Thursdays!
You should be happy with the results! Both of your pieces look very very good.
ReplyDeleteWonderful contour sketches. You captured the lilies perfectly.
ReplyDeleteGreat line drawings - and the layouts work really well. I like the different views. And, yes, lilies have a strong scent!
ReplyDeleteLove lillies, can't tolerate the perfume though! Your drawings are delicate and lovely - I particularly like the top one.
ReplyDeleteI love lines; lines are our friends! ;) These are both terrific! And I really really like that left hand flower on the moleskine sketchbook; maybe it's the angle, but it came out wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYou've become a pro overnight!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful drawings. I am also impressed by your use of watercolors on similar drawings a few posts back.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your lovely comments - you are all so encouraging.
ReplyDeleteOh, these are so lovely! Sorry to hear about all the rain you've been having.
